When reporting a problem, please include your macOS version, Mac model, and a short description of what happened. Do not send passwords, payment-card information, or other sensitive data.

The notch panel does not open

  • Confirm Notchorious is running from the menu bar.
  • Move the pointer to the notch/top-center activation area of the display selected in Notchorious Settings.
  • If you use an external display, review Settings → Display and choose the display where you want Notchorious to live.

Permissions

Notchorious requests macOS permissions only when a feature needs them. Location is used for Current Location weather; Reminders for the To-do widget; Bluetooth for supported accessory battery information; Screen Recording for explicit screenshots/recordings; Automation for supported media, Notes, and selected system actions; and brightness PostEvent access for brightness controls.

You can review or revoke system permissions at any time in macOS System Settings. If a permission flow asks Notchorious to relaunch, allow the relaunch and then try the feature again.

Trial, purchase, and restore

The free 7-day trial and lifetime unlock are handled by Apple through StoreKit. The trial does not renew. If a purchase is awaiting approval, Notchorious will unlock it after the App Store approves the transaction.

If you already purchased the lifetime unlock, use Restore Purchases in Notchorious Settings while signed in to the same Apple Account used for the purchase.

Alarms and timers

Alarms and timers ring inside Notchorious. The app must be running and the Mac must be awake at the scheduled time. Notchorious does not wake a sleeping Mac to ring an alarm.

Screen capture

Capture starts only when you press the capture control. Notchorious writes output only to the folder you selected. Screen recordings may include system audio; Notchorious does not capture microphone input and excludes its own app audio.

Weather

Weather can use Current Location or a manually selected city. If Location is denied, choose a city instead. Apple Weather current conditions and forecast remain available at no charge even after the Notchorious trial ends.

Privacy

Notchorious has no developer-operated analytics, advertising, or account server. Read the complete Privacy Policy.
