Notchorious Privacy Policy
Overview
Notchorious does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, cross-app tracking, or a developer-operated account service. Most settings and user-created data stay on your Mac inside the app sandbox.
Data stored on your Mac
Canvas layouts, appearance settings, alarms, timers, saved world-clock cities, the Quick Notes draft, notch calibration, the Capture folder bookmark, tutorial progress, and local permission-flow flags are stored locally. Notchorious-owned local data remains in the app sandbox until that container is removed. Items you explicitly save to Apple Notes or Reminders are stored by those system apps under their own settings and iCloud choices.
Location and weather
When you explicitly enable Location for weather features, Notchorious obtains your location from macOS and requests forecasts through Apple's WeatherKit framework. The most recent resolved coordinate, place name, and time zone may be stored locally in the app sandbox so weather can recover from temporary Core Location outages; this local value is cleared when Location access is revoked. If you choose a manual Weather city or add a World Clock city, Notchorious may use Apple's geocoding service to resolve the city name to coordinates. Notchorious does not send location to a developer-operated server and does not use it for advertising, analytics, or profiling. If the trial has ended and Notchorious features are locked, the Apple Weather current conditions and forecast remain available at no charge using your selected Weather location source.

Media artwork
The Now Playing widget reads metadata from a running player only after you grant macOS Automation access. If that metadata contains a remote artwork URL, Notchorious may fetch the image directly from the host specified by the player. The app does not upload your listening history to a Notchorious server.
System permissions
Location, Reminders, Bluetooth accessory access, Screen Recording, brightness-key PostEvent access, and Automation are requested only for the feature you choose to use. Permission state is controlled by macOS and can be changed in System Settings.
Purchases
Purchases and the free 7-day trial are handled by Apple's StoreKit. Notchorious receives verified transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock features, but it never receives your Apple Account password or payment-card details.
Apple services and external content
Weather forecasts are requested through Apple's WeatherKit service and purchases are handled by StoreKit. If the active media player provides a remote artwork URL, Notchorious may fetch that image directly from the host named by the player. Notchorious does not operate an analytics, advertising, weather, or account server.
Your choices
You can deny or revoke system permissions at any time. You can change the Capture folder, remove widgets, clear or change user-created content, and remove Notchorious to delete data held in its app container. Data already saved by your explicit action to Notes or Reminders must be managed in those apps.
